Technology-neutral workplace

We want everyone to feel welcome, regardless of genre or working method. Therefore, the only thing greeting new visitors is a Bluthner grand piano. A technology-neutral workplace means you fill the room with your needs. Various gear, such as our special synthesizer park, speakers, PA, backline and recording gear are available in Studio Martin.

Røros

Studio Martin is located in Røros, Norway, accessible by train, bus or plane. Røros is about 5 hours drive north from Oslo / 2 hours south from Trondheim. We offer accommodation for about 3/4 people in our 1890 classic wooden house next door, where there’s also kitchen, living room and bathroom.

Studio Martin hosts small events, such as house concerts and workshops. In particular, we want to strengthen local skills in music and sound production for children and young people in the region, and promote the Sami cultural heritage that lives in the areas around Studio Martin. Martin Aune 1963 – 2011

Studio Martin is run by Martin Aune’s Foundation, which is built on the artistic legacy - and fortune - of Norwegian musican, producer and composer Martin Aune, who died aged 49 in 2011. Martin Aune grew up in Røros and was a leading figure in scoring for film, TV series, and a number of vignettes and jingles for Norwegian radio and TV. In addition, he was a keyboard player working from young age with well known Norwegian artists, such as Terje Tysland, Lars Kilevold, Bjølsen Valsemølle and many more. Martin was very fond of synthesizers and electronic sound equipment. His own studio in Oslo was called the "Majorstua Synthesizer museum" by friends and colleagues, and as a collection and interest this is now carried on into Studio Martin.

“Programmed by the heart” (LP/DIGITAL)

Parallelly with the commercial assignments Martin was working on his own art project. Inspired by ambient, electronic bands like The Orb and The Future Sound of London he was preparing an album  with his self-produced compositions when he passed away in 2011.

These are the songs that were found on his hard-drives and by his friends and family deemed to be in a complete enough stage to be published. Martin himself was a perfectionist and we hope he will forgive us for making these tracks available to the public, even if we suspect he would not have regarded most of them in any way near finished.
